Photo: Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski hangs out with Poland at Wembley

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski might be a Germany international, but he is Polish by birth.

And with his compatriots in town to face England tonight, the injured Gunners star went along to Wembley to meet the squad during their final training session.

In an inadvertently damning assessment of Arsenal’s achievements in recent seasons, he wrote: “My 1st time in Wembley!”

Poldi also posted a photo posing with his former Cologne team-mate Slawomir Peszko.

I see what you’re trying to point out leading up to the Podolski quote “My first time at Wembley”. Arsenal haven’t won a trophy since the fall of the Roman Empire. But picturing Arsenal’s lack of trophies by that Podolski quote is so inaccurate. Podolski arrived at Arsenal in the summer of 2012. So the fact that this was his first trip to Wembley only means Arsenal didn’t manage to get into a cup final in 2012/13. Nothing more.
