Spurs manager Andre Villas Boas was in Spain yesterday to watch Barcelona B take on Deportivo La Coruna’s second-string.
The Portuguese boss was reportedly watching Barca youngster Sergi Samper.
The 18-year-old midfielder is said to be the primary reason for Villas Boas making the trip, although he was also monitoring fellow midfielder Javier Espinosa, aged 21, and 24-year-old goalkeeper Jordi Masip.
Spain under-19 international Samper didn’t get too much of an opportunity to impress as Barca B lost the game 0-1.
