Incoming Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis has targeted Blackburn striker Jordan Rhodes as the man who will fire the Eagles to Premier League safety.
Former Stoke boss Pulis takes over at Selhurst Park today and wants to sign Rhodes in January to bolster his new side’s attack.
The Daily Mirror claims Pulis wants to make a £6m bid for the Scotland international. One of his first tasks after agreeing to take the job on Saturday morning was to send a scout to watch Rhodes in action against Reading.
Palace will reportedly give their new manager money to spend when the transfer window opens. He is expected to buy with one eye on a promotion push next season in case the Eagles are relegated.
Rhodes was an £8m signing for Rovers when he joined 15 months ago. Blackburn are not looking to sell him.
