Tottenham officials are in Brazil this week trying to tie up a deal for Brazilian youngster Neilton.
The 19-year-old is out of contract at Santos and has failed to agree a new deal with the club.
They offered their wonderkid a £7,000-a-month deal, but he was demanding £20,000.
The player, dubbed the new Neymar after another player off the Santos production line, is also wanted by Spanish side Sevilla. They have offered £600,000 plus a 10 per cent sell-on clause.
Santos have not agreed to that yet, but Spurs are hopeful that they can strike a similar deal and have sent representatives to south America to put those plans in place, according to the Daily Mail.
Neilton has previously said that he would prefer to stay with Santos, but the decision might be taken out of his hands if his agents cannot reach an agreement with the club.
