AC Milan have confirmed the widely anticipated news that Japan international Keisuke Honda will join them in January.
The CSKA Moscow striker was linked with a move to Tottenham, but for the past few weeks it has seemed like a foregone conclusion that he would move to San Siro.
That’s now been made official by Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.
He said: “Now we can talk. From January 3, 2014, Keisuke Honda will be a Milan player.
He added: “Things are difficult as he is a non-EU player, I don’t know if he will be able to play already on January 6 [against Atalanta]. At the latest he will make his debut away at Sassuolo.”
Honda will wear the No.10 shirt when he completes his move on a free transfer.
