Arsenal are set to launch an £8m bid for Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi.
As we reported at the start of the month, the Gunners have been watching the 20-year-old hotshot closely. And they are now stepping up their scouting efforts with a view to bringing him to the Emirates in January, according to the Daily Mirror.
Arsene Wenger might also seek to bring in a bigger name striker as he seeks to bolster his attack for the second half of the season.
But he sees Belgium Under-21 international Batshuayi as a player who could provide support for Olivier Giroud this season and become a key player for the Gunners in the future.
He has 13 goals in 20 games for Standard so far this season.
