Steven Gerrard is set to return from his hamstring injury sooner than expected.
The Liverpool captain limped off during the recent win over West Ham and was due to be out of action for around six weeks.
But after a good recovery process, Gerrard could be back within the next 10 days, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.
He told the Liverpool Echo: “Steven is working very well with the staff.
“He’s already back running and kicking a ball. Hopefully in the next week to 10 days we’ll have him back training with us fully.”
The 33-year-old is unlikely to play any part in the Reds’ festive programme, but will be back early in January.
Does he deserve to get back into the starting line-up given how the Liverpool midfield has been performing in his absence?
