Veteran full-back Wayne Bridge is reportedly a transfer target for bottom-of-the-table Premier League side Sunderland.
The England international is currently playing for Reading. But the 33-year-old played some of his best football in recent seasons during a loan spell to Gus Poyet’s Brighton from Manchester City in 2012.
Poyet thinks the former Chelsea left-back can fill his side’s problem left back slot, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
While the Royals are going well in the Championship and currently occupy a play-off spot, Bridge might consider a move to the Black Cats to be his last chance of being a regular starter in the Premier League.
Bridge is not Poyet’s only option. He is considering other signings, including 29-year-old Parma defender Djamel Mesbah.
