Everton plot move for Arsenal target Michy Batshuayi
Everton are planning to make a move for Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi before the end of the current transfer window.
The Daily Mail reports that the Toffees are preparing a bid for the £8m-rated forward as they start to prepare for life with Chelsea loanee Romelua Lukaku.
Arsenal have been linked with the 20-year-old since the end of last season and were expected to make their own attempts to sign him.
But Roberto Martinez’s side are hoping to take the initiative by signing Batshuayi and immediately loaning him to Belgian side Anderlecht.
Standard are prepared to sell at the right price but are said to be concerned about Everton’s plan to send him on loan to one of their domestic rivals.
That could prove to be a stumbling block in the negotiations, the reports claim.
