Tottenham are reportedly set for talks with Lille about a £2.6m deal for ex-Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou.
He is expected in London today to open discussions about a return to the Premier League.
The north London side have been consistently linked with the Ivory Coast international in recent weeks, and manager Tim Sherwood has since confirmed his interest in the 28-year-old.
Kalou has been in excellent form for the Ligue 1 side since joining them on a free transfer from the Blues in 2012, prompting links with several Premier League clubs.
But Lille are keen to keep hold of their man and a fee has yet to be agreed.
The French side’s president Michel Seydoux recently quoted €87m to sign him.
He said: “Kalou? €87m maybe.
“For €5m or €6m, it does not matter.”
Spurs are confident a deal can be done for significantly less than that.
