Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has been ruled out for up to two months.
The Brazil international suffered damage to the medial collateral ligament in his right knee in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa.
He complained of “a click” in his right knee following a challenge with Villa midfielder Fabian Delph around 20 minutes after having come on as a half-time substitute.
The 27-year-old ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in December 2011 and missed the second-half of the season. His latest setback is not as serious, but is likely to keep him out until March.
