Manchester United have the best away fans in the Premier League, but Liverpool supporters generate the best atmosphere at home, according to a survey of Premier League managers.

The anonymous poll of top-flight gaffers found that United fans were considered to be most vocal when visiting their grounds. But they said Anfield had the best atmosphere when they take their teams to play there.

The survey, conducted by the League Managers’ Association as part of the Barclays ‘Thank You’ campaign, found that 35 per cent of Premier League bosses consider Anfield the stadium with the best atmosphere. Some 29 per cent said United fans are noisiest on the road.

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis, Southampton’s Mauricio Pochettino and Manchester City’s Manuel Pellegrini were in a three-way tie when the bosses were asked to vote for which of their peers had been most impressive so far this season.

They voted Liverpool’s Luis Suarez their player of the season with 41 per cent of votes, while Manchester City’s Alvaro Negredo was deemed signing of the season after polling 59 per cent.

the Liverpool vote is because they sing thru a public address system which has been contrived by sky tv giving them specific licence to sing and be recorded. Totally contrived. Every club sang it until sky arrived. The club with 5,000 ex-players giving us the benefit of their TV analysis. Liverpool an Arsenal = tv darlings
