Liverpool are on alert after Inter Milan midfielder Mateo Kovacic’s agent revealed he is unsettled at the Serie A side.
The 19-year-old is reportedly unhappy at the lack of games he is currently getting at San Siro.
The Croatian youngster, rated as one of Europe’s best midfield prospects, has been out of favour in recent weeks, despite having previously established himself in the Inter team.
His agent hinted that Kovacic has fallen out with Inter boss Walter Mazzari.
Nikky Vuksan told reporters: “Everybody is confused as to why Mateo is not playing.
“Is there a row with Mazzarri? I can’t say a lot, but he is not happy.’
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to press ahead with an £8m bid for the former Dinamo Zagreb man, according to the Metro.
Any bid will be launched soon after the end of the season, before Kovacic appears for Croatia at the World Cup.
