Manchester United are considering selling Robin Van Persie this summer and Chelsea would be interested in signing him, according to reports in Italy.
Tuttosport claims that Juventus and Monaco are also in the running for the Dutchman, who is said to be unhappy at Old Trafford.
United would consider a bid in the region of £15-18m, the report claims. That is considerably less than the £24m they paid to sign him from Arsenal in 2012, but Van Persie is now the wrong side of 30.
Juve would struggle to match Monaco and Chelsea in terms of Van Persie’s salary and would also have concerns about paying such a high fee for a player whose best years may well be behind him.
That makes the rich Ligue 1 outfit and the Blues favourites to sign him, the reports suggest. Although, with Jose Mourinho also interested in signing Radamel Falcao from Monaco, it’s possible that a deal could be arranged that suits all parties.
