Olivier Giroud’s wife tells him to quit Arsenal and move back to France
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has reportedly been told to secure a transfer back to France by his wife.
The 27-year-old made headline news last month when Giroud admitted taking model Celia Kay to his hotel room in the early hours of the morning.
Now, his wife Jennifer has told him to leave the Gunners and return to his homeland to save their marriage, according to reports in The Sun on Sunday.
A source told the tabloid: “She’s agreed to take him back, but only on the condition they leave London and England.
“He’s desperate to save the marriage because he knows how stupid he’s been – so he is going along with what she wants.”
Giroud, who signed for Arsenal from Montpellier in 2012, apologised on Twitter to his wife after photos of him walking around a hotel room in his underwear were published, but he later denied committing adultery.
The latest revelations follow news of a meeting between Giroud and an agent with close links to Paris Saint Germain last week.
