Man Utd ‘consider selling Juan Mata to Barca’ months after he joined from Chelsea

Manchester United are ready to ditch Juan Mata less than six months after signing him from Chelsea, according to reports in Spain.

The 25-year-old is a target for Barcelona as they seek to rebuild under new manager Luis Enrique, claims the AS newspaper.

Barca are said to be considering a £40m bid for the playmaker, who cost £37m when United bought him in January.

Incoming United boss Louis Van Gaal is thought to be ready to listen to offers amid fears that he won’t be able to accommodate the Spaniard in his starting line-up.

The former Barca boss is set to play Wayne Rooney behind Robin Van Persie and would prefer direct wingers.

He would probably invest the money from the former Blues star’s sale to fund an upgrade on United’s flanks.

Mata has admitted things have not gone as he wanted since he moved to Old Trafford.

He said: “The first six months of the season were difficult because I did not play as much as I would have liked. But I always respected my team-mates, tried to make the most of the opportunities I had and nothing more.

“In the end there was the opportunity to go to Manchester United, a great offer, and the club also understood that it was a good choice. So the transfer happened.”

What the fuck?! Keep Mata! We already have what ? At least 100m to spend. Keep the current 11 and let mata, kagawa, nani play!?

Bollocks keep mata prob the best ting 2 cum out of last season

  • Wolfy

Roomy is injury prone! So we need mata

  • The v

Keep mata dump rooney make strong choices for the sake of the fans

Mata needs to say, only one player needs to go that’s Rooney, and if they’re not going to be used regularly kagawa nani young should be moved on for they’re sakes, I personally would sell Rooney, Valencia, Nani and Carrick (I’ve never liked him in my opinion he’s had 1 good season and that was 2012/2013), to make room for new blood

    Wtf this is bullshit !!

From where do you know that van gaal will play rooney behind rvp?
    can you read minds?

That quote was in relation to his time at chelsea and not united. I don’t understand what that has to do with things not going how he wanted at united. He played every league game he was available for at united.

Mata is the only midfielder who made a good impact on last season. Why would they sell him? Its a stupid idea. They should sell nani clecerly chiccharo ashley young and maybe even luis valencia. And definately keep ROONEY

We keep mata, we keep rooney, and kags. We play a narrow 4231 and have 3 playmakers interchange behind rvp. We buy martinez and carvhalo for defensive midfielders. Then we buy either luke shaw or alberto moreno for left back! And were set!!!
    25 martinez
    30 carvhalo
And 25 for luke shaw or 20 for alberto moreno. We won’t need to spend over 90 at all.
And we sell players as well like nani, young, welbeck, clevs, buttner and fellaini even. Only reason why I would sell fellaini is because fletcher does a better job thanhim at defensive midfielder and would be a better back up in case of injury. Carrick already over 30 can play sporadicly as well as evra. Keep them more for team morale. Have jones, smalling, and evans compete for center back positions. Rafa at right back. We can be solid once more. Hopefully Van Gaal builds the team around the players he has and not bring in more then 3 players which will mess up our team chemistry. He will also believe in our youngsters which will hopefully have sporadic game time throughout the season. Januzaj, powell, wilson, varela and few more.

The situation with chicha is somewhat complicated. If we play the formation. I suggest than chicha would shine so should not be sold. But if van gaal plays 433 then chicha to depend to drop back and start up play isn’t too dependable and therefore should be sold. Welbeck is more of that type of player that can start up plays from the midfield but his finish is so horrible that I’m starting to think his performance might be better out in left mid!

    Just my opinion! GGMU!!!!

That is madness! How do you want to get rid of a star like Juan Mata? Mata’s problem is lack of strategic positioning by the coaches. Fine, let him come to Barca and you will regret like Anchelloti regreted over Ozil.
