Arsenal could miss out on Sami Khedira due to James Rodriguez deal
Arsenal are in danger of losing the chance to sign Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira amid reports that he could be used as a makeweight in the deal to take James Rodriguez from Monaco to Real.
Colombia international Rodriguez is set to make his move to the Bernabeu in the coming days.
Monaco are seeking £67m, while Real want a deal closer to £59m. Now, reports in Germany suggest that Khedira could be used as a makeweight in the deal.
German tabloid Bild claims that the difference in valuations – plus Real’s failure to offload Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain in a big-money deal – has led to Khedira’s name being mentioned as an option.
The 27-year-old World Cup winner is thought to be one of Arsenal’s top summer transfer targets.
