Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is lining up a move back to Manchester United for the attacker, according to reports in Spain.
The attacker has been at the centre of speculation he could move back to Old Trafford after declaring he has fond memories of the club and is open to playing for them again.
The Portuguese’s former teammate Angel di Maria also dropped a bomb by claiming he did not know “how long” Ronaldo could carry on for at Real.
Tensions between Ronaldo and Real have become further strained after the club’s president Florentino Perez was unhappy that Mendes allowed Di Maria write an open letter criticising Real.
Perez also hit back at suggestions they made a mistake in missing out on Radamel Falcao.
“If we had signed Falcao we may as well have made Mendes president,” Perez mocked.
This all came after Mendes appeared to suggest that Ronaldo is not happy and could leave.
“Ronaldo’s comments are based on things I am aware of and he is at liberty to divulge them. These comments have not surprised me and certainly not upset me,” he said.
Ronaldo had said: “I love Manchester. Everyone knows that — I have said it many times.
“Manchester is in my heart. I left many good friends there, the supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.
“I am happy here in Real Madrid and have four more years, but in the future you never know because they treated me unbelievably there.”
