Man Utd’s Tom Cleverley could still move to Aston Villa despite the transfer window being shut
Tom Cleverley’s bizarre on-off tranfer move from Manchester United could be back on – despite the transfer window shutting yesterday, according to reports.
Mystery has surrounded the potential transfer of the 25-year-old with it appearing today that his possible move to either Everton or Aston Villa were off after he apparently priced himself out of a move with his £60,000 a week wage demands.
But according to Sky Sports, Villa are now waiting to hear back from the Premier League today to see if they can take Cleverley from United.
And Villa think they have their man after making a late application before the 11pm transfer deadline last night, with the hold-up of the deal seemingly being because United were flat out completing other deals for Radamel Falcao and Danny Blind.
United had agreed a transfer fee of £7m with both Everton and Villa for the England midfielder, while Hull City and Valencia were also said to be keen.
