Reims issue a statement denying that ex-Liverpool striker David N’Gog has gone missing
Liverpool supporters are only too familiar with former striker David N’Gog going missing.
But whereas at Anfield his whereabouts could often be questioned on the pitch, current club Reims have been forced to deny claims that they don’t know where he is at all.
Reports in French newspaper L’Equipe claimed that Reims had misplaced their striker and discovered that he had checked out of the hotel where he had been staying since joining them in the summer only when the club doctor attempted to visit him.
Reims issued a statement that read: “As explained at the end of last week, David Ngog is the victim of a virus that prevent him from training and, therefore, from plying his trade.
“We remind everyone that respect for people’s private life and medical confidentiality applies to professional football as it does in every other occupation. Stade de Reims wishes him a good convalescence and speedy recovery.”
That statement did not address any of L’Equipe’s claims directly.
