‘Didier Drogba back to form that won Champions League’, says Chelsea’s Gary Cahill
Didier Drogba is back to the form that won Chelsea the Champions League in 2012, according to team-mate Gary Cahill.
The powering centre-forward has scored three goals in as many outings during the last week as he looks to have put his early season injury problems behind him.
And Cahill says it is a great problem for boss Jose Mourinho to have with Diego Costa and Loic Remy set to return.
“Does Diego have a battle to get in the team? We have options, not just up front but all over the pitch. It’s great,” the defender said.
“To have the three strikers in form, Loic scored before he was injured, to have them all back fit and scoring is vital. Didier has made a statement over the last week with playing games. We’ve seen in the last two matches that he’s fully fit now.
“He is looking dangerous, like he was before he went [in 2012]. He has been massive for us, led by example at Shrewsbury and got a vital goal for us.
“Who knows how long he can play on for? That’s for the club and Didier to decide. Diego has been playing the majority of the games up till now but Didier is fit and sharp.”
