Liverpool enter battle for Portuguese wonderkid Ruben Neves
Liverpool have entered the race for Porto’s wonderkid Ruben Neves who has been attracting interest from around Europe, according to reports.
Neves, 17, has only just burst on the scene but is already creating stir following his fine displays in midfield.
Juventus and a number of Spanish clubs have been watching the rising star, while Liverpool have now watched the Portugal U21 player several times, the Mirror says.
He has made just 10 first-team appearances so far for the Portuguese giants with him scoring one goal in that time.
He has also scored once for Portugal U21s, and captained his country in the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to continue his policy of recruiting top teenage talent but knows he faces a battle to secure his signature.
