Man Utd ‘keeper David de Gea encourages Cristiano Ronaldo to return to club
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has encouraged Cristiano Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford.
The stopper has added his name to the frenzied speculation linking the 29-year-old with a return to the club he left for Real Madrid.
Ronaldo had fuelled the flames of a possible move by saying he still loves the club and would like to play for the Red Devils again one day.
Despite his comments he has since insisted he is happy in Madrid though.
And De Gea admits it would not be easy to persuade the Portuguese star to come back to United.
“Of course I would like Cristiano Ronaldo to come to Manchester United,” he told Goal. “But I think it’s difficult.”
Referring to the impact of marquee signings Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao, he added: “They have adapted quickly, both scoring and supplying assists. They will make us better as everybody knows how well they did in Spain [with Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid respectively].
“I hope they score a lot of goals for Manchester United.”
