Ex-Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas wants Champions League glory with Chelsea
Ex-Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has revealed he desperately wants Champions League success this season with Chelsea.
The Blues midfielder has been a major hit at the club after his £32m summer move from Barcelona with him already providing nine assists this season – just four short of Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard last term, who had the most in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old also set-up the winner for Chelsea against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend and is hoping to transfer his fine domestic form to Europe.
The Spaniard has yet to win the Champions League having missed out with Arsenal and Barcelona.
And now he says he wants to change that blemish on his CV.
“It is important; the Champions League is the competition I still need to win,” he said. ‘’It would give me enormous satisfaction.
“We have a great team. I do not know if it will happen this year, next year or in the next five years. That is football.’’
