Tottenham midfielder Ryan Mason has signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at White Hart Lane until 2020.
Mason, aged 23, has never played a Premier League game before this season, but has established himself as a regular under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.
He is now a regular in the Spurs midfield and marked himself out as one of the first players at the club to be able to adapt to Pochettino’s style of play in the opening stages of the season.
The Enfield-born star, who came through the Spurs academy and supported the club as a boy, said: “I’m buzzing about it. I’m delighted and I can’t wait to crack on now.”
He added: “I appreciate the length of the contract shows a lot of faith in me and hopefully I can keep progressing and stay at the club longer than the contract.”
Mason had spent time on loan at Yeovil Town, Doncaster Rovers, Millwall and Swindon Town before breaking into the Spurs team this season.
I'm Delighted to have signed a new contract.. Thank you for all the support and messages! It means a lot #COYS
