Pogba in an Arsenal shirt, Messi in a Chelsea shirt
French newspaper L’Equipe have got a bit carried away with the Premier League’s recent bumper TV deal.
The publication is under the impression that English football will now be able to hoover up Europe’s top talent by destabilising the transfer market. And the photos they have chosen to illustrate the point will certainly whet the appetite of fans of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United.
Juventus and France midfielder Paul Pogba is shown wearing an Arsenal shirt. The 21-year-old has been more strongly linked with Chelsea, United and Real Madrid, but the Gunners would be quite happy to land him.
Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller is mocked up in a Manchester City kit, Thiago Silva is imagined as a Liverpool player, Lionel Messi is show in Chelsea colours and Cristiano Ronaldo is decked out in current Manchester United colours having apparently returned to his former club.
That would make for an impressive summer transfer window. We can’t really see that happening, but fair play to L’Equipe for sharing their vision.
