Javier Hernandez heading back to Man Utd after Real Madrid snub deal
Javier Hernandez will return to Manchester United after Real Madrid decided against taking up a permanent option to keep the loanee striker, according to Marca.
The 26-year-old has largely been an outcast for Real this season, just as he was last term at United, with the Spanish giants now deciding he is no longer needed.
He made 33 appearances for the club, though only 12 of those came from the start of matches with him in the shadow of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.
His highlight for Real came when he scored the winning goal against neighbours Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final, with him then following it up with two goals against Celta Vigo.
Hernandez, who is available on a free transfer in 12 months, had said he wanted to remain in Madrid but now faces the reality of heading back to Manchester where Louis van Gaal has made it clear he does not rate the player.
