Liverpool could reappoint Rafa Benitez
Liverpool are considering reappoint former manager Rafa Benitez, according to Spanish newspaper AS.
The Spaniard, who guided the Reds to their 2005 Champions League victory, is currently in charge of Italian side Napoli but is expected to leave this summer.
The AS report says that he will indeed move on at the end of the current campaign. That is said to be against the wishes of the Napoli hierarchy, who would rather keep him at the helm.
Benitez is said to have three offers of employment from Premier League sides, with West Hame namechecked in the article. The former Valencia boss reportedly wants to return to English football this summer and is most keen on a comeback to Anfield.
His family still live on Merseyside.
The report mentions that some Liverpool fans are pushing for current boss Brendan Rodgers to be sacked and goes on to say that Benitez’s reappointment is “nearby”.
