Brazil star set to undergo Man Utd medical at Copa America
Brazil international Roberto Firmino will undergo a Manchester United medical at his side’s Copa America base in Chile, according to former international Ze Elias.
The ex-Corinthians and Inter Milan midfielder is now working as a pundit for Brazilian television. He claims information he has received from agents indicate that the Hoffenheim player is set to move to United and will be tested by the Premier League side’s medical staff during this month’s tournament.
Firmino, aged 23, has been linked with United for some time. Indeed, a United scout was spotted watching him in action in the Bundesliga alongside one of the player’s agents earlier this season.
The attacking midfielder has played for Hoffenheim since January 2011, when he signed from Figueirense. He has scored 49 goals in 151 games in all competitions for the German side.
He broke into the Brazil side last year and scored the winning goal in their warm-up friendly against Honduras yesterday.
Ze Elias suggests a deal with United will be done for around €18m.
