Dynamo Kiev star Andriy Yarmolenko is a transfer target for Manchester United, his coach Sergei Rebrov has hinted.
Yarmolenko has previously been linked with Everton. Rebrov mentioned the Toffees’ interest but also touted United as one of the clubs attempting to sign the forward.
Rebrov urged his star player to reject the overtures of both Premier League clubs and stay at his current side.
The Ukraine international, aged 25, scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 away win at Hirnyk-Sport in a cup game.
Speaking to Dyanmo’s official website after the victory over Hirnyk-Sport, Rebrov said: “You will not hear news from me, I have nothing new to say.
“Yarmolenko is a very good footballer who I need. How events will develop further, I think you know. I do not care who is interested in him – Everton or Manchester United. Again, this is a footballer who I need.”
United have been linked with a series of wide attacking midfielders in recent weeks, most notably Barcelona’s Pedro Rodriguez, who subsequently signed for Chelsea, and Southampton’s Sadio Mane.
A bid for Yarmolenko had not appeared to be on the cards, but Rebrov’s comments indicate that the Old Trafford hierarchy are keen on him.
Yarmolenko has been a Kiev players since 2007 when he joined from Desna Chernihiv.
