Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho reacts to transfer rumours
Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho has offered assurances that he will not be leaving the club this summer.
The Brazil international has been touted with a move away from the Reds, who are unable to offer European football next season, with French champions Paris Saint-Germain among those credited with interest.
But Coutinho, aged 24, has played down that speculation and insisted he is happy to stay at Anfield to work with manager Jurgen Klopp.
According to the Liverpool Echo, he said:
Coutinho was part of the Brazil squad eliminated from the Copa America at the group stage after a 1-0 defeat to Peru yesterday.
He is now set for a four-week break before reporting to Melwood for pre-season training with Liverpool in mid-July.
Coutinho joined the Merseysiders from Inter Milan in an £8.5m deal in January 2013. He has since clocked up 145 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 28 goals for the Reds.
