France have taken the lead against Germany in this evening’s Euro 2016 semi-final clash in Marseille.
The hosts made the breakthrough on the stroke of half-time after Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger conceded a penalty.
The referee awarded handball against the Germany skipper as he jumped for a header with Patrice Evra. The ball glanced off Evra’s head and hit Schweinsteiger’s hand.
The United man was given a yellow card for his troubles, but the real punishment came when Antoine Griezmann fired home the resulting penalty.
That was Griezmann’s fifth goal of the tournament and puts him in pole position for the golden boot.
