Jonny Evans linked with transfer back to Manchester United
West Bromwich Albion defender Jonny Evans is a transfer target for former club Manchester United, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The Northern Ireland international, aged 29, came through the ranks at Old Trafford but was offloaded by former manager Louis van Gaal two-and-a-half years ago for just £6m.
Current boss Jose Mourinho reportedly believes it was a mistake to let Evans go and wants to bring him back to the club.
He is now set to make a move for Evans in the January transfer window following the news that centre-back Eric Bailly will be out for up to three months because he needs surgery on his ankle.
Evans also remains a target for Manchester City and Arsenal, with City having had a £20m bid rejected last summer. The Baggies are said to value their player at £30m.
Mourinho and his United team will be at the Hawthorns to face Evans’ West Brom side later today.
