A Swedish match between Djurgarden and Mjallby was abandoned yesterday after Djurgarden fans threw bottles and fresh fruit at opposing players after their side conceded a contraversial goal.
Mjallby players were also hit with coins after fans were left fuming after Yussif Chibsah went down injured, but no free kick was awarded. Mjallby refused to kick the ball out so Chibsah could receive treatment, and Robin Stromberg scored.
Sad state of affairs.
Emmanuel Eboue has always been something of a ‘character’, caring more about funny dancing and ridiculous baseball caps than actually defending, and he was always good for a comedy sending off.
Now at Galatasaray (and about to face Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter final), Eboue has not necessarily calmed down in Turkey, as shown by his impressive tomfoolery during a pre-match interview.
Rather than simply answering questions about Gala’s biggest match in some time, the Ivorian instead resorts to messing about with the interviewer’s face and blowing down his ear.

Initial thoughts are that at least the gingham style has been excluded after just one season, because it was fairly dreadful. read more »
