Very unlucky mascot
Apparently, it is a tradition for a fund-raising mascot race to take place at half-time in the Essex derby between Colchester and Southend. What’s not quite so traditional is for one of the mascots competing to run straight into the stanchion during the race.

League One outfit secure points victory
Leeds are through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup after the BBC handed them victory over Spurs. Like most viewers watching the match, OTP thought that Jermaine Beckford’s late penalty was an equaliser but it is now being lauded as the “matchwinner”.

Jamelia’s ex takes Twitter pop at Liverpool boss
Darren Byfield celebrated today’s news that he and pop star wife Jamelia are splitting by taking Twitter shots at Rafael Benitez.
The Walsall striker criticised the Liverpool manager for substituting Fernando Torres and called him a “silly Peter Kay lookalike”.
He also concluded that the Reds “are super shit”.
