In the coverage that we saw last night, England beat Germany in Berlin. But in the parallel universe in which Eurosport exists the Three Lions were once again slain by Diego Maradona. A Eurosport hack who got a bit caught up in the Terry Butcher furore decided to write that Argentina had managed to “down England”.
That is assuming Butcher hasn’t used his position on the Scottish bench to mount some sort of Wooden Horse of Troy invasion and Scotland is now part of England. Or maybe the headline should read: “Maradona’s Argentina drive down to England.”
Rosario Central president Horacio Usandizaga is not likely to win any Boss of the Year awards after he was secretly filmed making a speech in which he threatened to kill his club’s players and coaching staff.
The under-fire president came out with guns blazing (hopefully not too literally) as he defended his leadership of the relegation-threatened club. Unfortunately, the video was leaked to the Argentinian media and has caused outrage in the South American country. Read more »
San Lorenzo centre-back Sebastian Mendez got a little bit caught up in his martial arts fantasy and kung-fu kicked River Plate’s Falcao. I love how you can actually pinpoint the minute he realises what he has done and that he is nowhere near the ball. Just look at him frantically trying to get himself closer to the ball!
