Come in number 11
Marseille youngster Hatem Ben Arfa had a nasty wardrobe malfunction at the weekend. Preparing to come on as a substitute, Ben Arfa stripped off his tracksuit to reveal that he was masquerading as team-mate Mamadou ‘Pixie Lott’ Niang.
Cue much hilarity and a quick sprint for the kitman to reunite Ben Arfa with [...]

The players and staff of Paris St Germain have been quarantined after three players complained they were suffering with symptoms of swine flu. Ludovic Giuly, Mamadou Sakho and Jeremy Clement have all been tested for the virus after complaining of fever, coughing and sore throats.

Ex-Liverpool man’s face goes green
Footballing Houdini Bolo Zenden completed an interested week by being attacked with a laser pen during last night’s Uefa Cup tie between Marseille and Ajax. Footage of the match clearly showed a green laser flashing across the Dutchman’s face.
Play was briefly stopped by the referee after Zenden complained about the incident. [...]

With team-mates like this, who needs an opposition?
This has just had me doubled up in laughter, so hopefully it will have the same effect on you. It has often been a criticism levelled at Boudewijn Zenden that he drifts in and out of games too much, but this really takes the biscuit.
Bolo found the net [...]

In Off The Post Both Posts
French teams have been scoring some great free-kicks in Europe this week. And Hatem Ben Arfa’s 35-yard strike for Marseille against Steve McClaren’s FC Twente was no exception.
The ball hit both posts before eventually nestling in the net. For those of you who like your violence as much as your [...]

Marseille man takes to the pitch in scrum cap
Rugby is a pretty popular sport in the south of France, and Marseille’s Baky Kone has emerged from hospital seemingly unsure what shape his balls are. The Ivory Coast international has had to don the old Petr Cech after being taken out by Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris [...]

Pick that one out
There was absolutely nothing any goalkeeper could have done about Remy Mareval’s strike for Nantes against Marseille in midweek. In fact, I doubt very much if a defender on the post could have done anything - at least not without having his head knocked off. You could say it was Mareval-ous strike.
I [...]
