Unlike England, we have Rooney available so here’s The Daft Punt

We have an action packed weekend of football ahead of us. Despite there being only one Premier League game, there is the FA Cup to look forward to as well as a number of football league fixtures.

It is time to look at where to place just a few quid here and there on the more original football bets. Without further ado, let’s take a look at today’s latest odds and contemplate where some money could be won this weekend.

Watford to be beating Chelsea at half-time
This is one that I really like the look of. I’d fully expect Chelsea to come back and win the game, but what about a 1-0 lead for the Championship side going into the break? Place £5 on this to win £40.

Sheffield United and Hull to share 6 goals or more
For me, this is one of the best ties of the round as it really could go either way. In fact, it could be an absolute thriller. Or it couldn’t….that’s the risk I guess! Place £5 on this to win £123.95

Manchester United to concede for the first time in ages against Liverpool
Personally, I love this kind of bet. It’s something that only comes about as a result of something significant happening during the season. On this occasion, you can bet on when Man Utd concede their next Premier League goal. I fancy it to be at Anfield. Place £5 on this to win £20.

Swansea City to win both halves against Fulham
Having tipped Swansea for promotion last time, I’d just like to point out that I am not a fan! Anyway, this is a game that I fully expect them to win comfortably. Excellent home form + dreadful away form = victory in each half for the Championship side. Place £5 on this to win £45.

Rio Ferdinand to win PFA Player of the Year
Sometimes with betting, you just have to go for the outsiders. It makes it all the more worthwhile. So, considering that Nemanja Vidic is favourite for the award, why not go for his defensive partner at 99/1? Place £5 on this to win £495.

So, there are a few bets to get you thinking ahead of the weekend. Money will be won, money will be lost – but it’s all a bit of fun! The amount of people I have seen screwing up their betting slips and throwing them at the TV only to retrieve them when things start to change in their favour!

Elsewhere, it is also getting to the stage where we should be betting on who is going to win certain competitions. So, with this in mind, I will be taking a look at Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and Championship betting in my next piece for Off The Post.

Until then, enjoy…….
