FIFA investigates North Korea ‘punishment’ claims
An investigation has been launched into allegations that North Korea’s World Cup squad was tortured after suffering three defeats in South Africa.
The players and coaches were reportedly humiliated publicly before being sentenced to forced labour at a residential building site in Pyongyang.
FIFA began an investigation after the claims were made by Radio Free Asia.
Asian Football Federation chief Mohamed Bin Hammam said he had met several of the players last month.
He said: “There was an unconfirmed report that these players have gone through torture or something like that, but I can’t confirm that.”
Sounds like a plan for the England squad.
