Beeb broadcasts c-word at tea-time
The c-word is one of the last remaining taboos in British broadcasting. It occasionally slips out in live interviews (just ask Steven Bywater), but rarely makes it into an edited news package. Produced by the BBC. Broadcast as people are tucking into their dinner.
But when Rangers fans visit Manchester it usually causes chaos and on this occasion the Beeb’s regional news bulletin, North West Tonight, were to be their victims.
Prior to last night’s Champions League match, a story was broadcast in which a Rangers fan said: “Hopefully ever c***’s going to get along with each other.”
Oops. Perhaps they should have run the clip past a translator first.
