Error prone keeper marks return to form with rude gesture

West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green is likely to be charged by the FA later today after aiming an “up yours” gesture at the Upton Park press box following his side’s victory over Tottenham on Saturday.

Green has come in for a large amount of criticism since his World Cup howler against USA. He has also made a string of mistakes since the start of the new season.

But an impressive showing against Spurs led Green to show the press exactly where they could shove their analysis after the match. The fact that it has taken six league games before he has played well enough to roll out the gesture does speak volumes though!

Hammers boss Avram Grant sort of backed up his player. He said: “I think Rob’s performance was the best speech.”

But the FA is likely to disagree and he will probably be making a speech before a disciplinary panel soon.
