Schoolboy defending, toddler tantrum
Preston Edwards reluctantly entered the record books this week as he picked up the fastest red card ever. The Ebbsfleet United keeper was sent-off after 10 seconds of his side’s match against Farnborough.
The ex-Millwall man brought down Kezie Ibe, who was clean through on goal after a woefully underhit backpass from left-back Adam Blake.
The fun and games were just beginning. Edwards did his best angry stomp, throwing his gloves around the pitch and berating Blake as he made his way towards the earliest bath since records began!
Ebbsfleet had no sub goalie on the bench, so 18-year-old midfielder Tom Phipp was left to (unsuccessfully) face the resulting penalty and keep goal for the rest of the match.
