Meet the perfect Premier League manager
The perfect Premier League football manager is Scottish, an ex-professional footballer and aged 51 and five months, according to new research.
The study, carried out by the makers of the Football Manager game, revealed that on average managers have most success at that age and that that the ideal manager should wear a suit on the touchline.
Along with the maths-based research comes the slightly less scientific Photoshop of the perfect manager. The researchers state:
“The face of the ideal manager incorporates the chin of England boss Fabio Capello (as good managers need the ability to take abuse on the chin), the nose of Harry Redknapp (possessing the ability to sniff out a bargain) and the forehead and brow of Alex Ferguson (the furrowed brows a sign of deep tactical thinking).
“The mouth of Ian Holloway is included (to have the gift of the gab with media) as well as the body of Man City manager Roberto Mancini – the most stylish Premier League boss.
And with the average football manager’s hair greying in just six years, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti’s silver locks top the perfect gaffer’s head.
Swansea could be onto a good thing because the perfect manager does look a bit like Brendan Rodgers. Well, Brendan Rodgers’ twin brother – the one who was locked in the attic.
