Modest Switzerland U21 star Xherdan Shaqiri: ‘I’m a really special player’
Xherdan Shaqiri proved he is a graduate of the Jose Mourinho School of Media Training with an entertaining interview ahead of tonight’s European Under 21 Championship semi-final against the Czech Republic.
The modest prodigy outed himself as football’s new Special One.
The FC Basel player told Sky Sports: “I’m a really special player. Very creative in my approach to the game and I like to take risks.
“Of course, I like to score: I have to score. But I also like to help my team-mates, so everybody else can score.”
What a nice lad, helping those less special than himself. But that’s enough about the others. Back to the subject of his goal against Denmark.
He continued: “It wasn’t just a normal goal, it was a really beautiful goal and it shows what kind of player I am. I can change a game and I can score at the right moment.”
And you should see what he does for a party trick.
