England players happy with resolution to puppy row
England players and the FA are pleased that a compromise has been reached in their puppy row with FIFA ahead of Saturday’s friendly with Spain.
The FA wanted England players to have puppies attached to their shirts for the match, but this was deemed to be in breach of FIFA rules.
After a brief impasse, it was decided that the players will be allowed to wear puppies attached to black armbands.
All England players will don the puppy armbands for the match, except Bobby Zamora who suffers from a mild dog allergy.
And now, here’s the real poppy armbands.
