OTP Podcast: Episode 20 – The O’Neill Appeal
Whipping Stephen Warnock
Happy New Year one and all!
The Off The Post Podcast is the audio equivalent of a hangover on New Year’s Day: uncomfortable at times, occasionally vomit-inducing, but if you get your head down you can just about push through it.
We’re back and here to help you shake off the last remnants of the marathon festive fixture list as we shoot some fireworks of our own into all the Premier League action from the last few days, which includes a little bit of the following: Didier Drogba’s last ditch attempt to make the Ivory Coast’s Olympic equestrian team, the Arab Spring uprisings spread to the Egyptian top flight, Mario Balotelli gets grimy, and why the fate of the world economy may rest on the Euro 2012 knockout phase. Let’s clear that debt with goals.
Videos
Arsene Wenger’s guitar-playing and Roy Hodgson’s head-banging.
Didier Drogba proving he’s no one trick pony as he shows of his sublime equestrian skills with none other than Stephen Warnock as his trusty steed.
What’s Ex-Spurs stropper Mido up to these days you ask? Well taking part in tandem bicycle kick attempts back in Egypt of course. Getting himself back in the shop window just in time for January perhaps?
More high drama in Egypt as this Al-Ahly defender calmly slots the ball into his own goal, before watching it literally slip through the net and then joining his team mates in claiming it didn’t go in. But can you guess what happened next? Maybe an in-depth debate after the game about goal-line technology, some Twitter-based rants from the players, a slightly spiky post match press conference from the opposing manager, or…….
……..a full scale pitch invasion complete with the officials being chased off the pitch and riot police being sent in to disperse the crowd. Happy New Year everyone.
