Video: Manchester United star Tom Cleverley plots first goal of the season against Swansea
Tom Cleverley is aiming to put an injury-hit season behind him and score against Swansea to keep the pressure on title rivals Manchester City.
The midfielder made an impressive start to the season, but failed to to find the net in any of his five games before succumbing to ankle injury.
He’s hoping all that will change on Sunday if he returns to the United team.
Speaking at the launch of the new Adidas Predator Lethal Zones boot, Cleverley said: “I am quite a superstitious person and a couple of years ago I would only wear white [boots]. But now I change about a bit.
“But if I score this weekend in these – my first goal of the season – then they’ll have to be the boots for the next few months.”
The 22-year-old is hoping that his return to full fitness will force him into Sir Alex Ferguson’s plans for the Swansea match.
He added: “I’m training and hopefully I’ll have some input.”
