Liquid mind games: Zlatan Ibrahimovich has a gulp of England keeper Joe Hart’s water bottle
We all witnessed Zlatan Ibrahimovich get all up in Joe Hart’s grill immediately after Sweden scored their second goal against England on Friday night. What you didn’t see was the delightfully childish follow up by the mercurial AC Milan giant.
Not content with bludgeoning Hart’s face with trash talk 10 minutes previously, the above picture shows that Ibra waltzed in to the Manchester City keeper’s goal, snaffled his water bottle and took an almighty gulp.
Hart – who remained composed throughout the mind-game fest – appears considerably more focused on the upcoming corner kick.
One thing the forward found much harder to swallow was suffering a defeat at the hands of Roy Hodgson’s men.
Speaking after the game, Ibrahimovich said: “I think we were the better team against England. I really do. We should be proud of ourselves because we played a good game. We played the opposite way to the first one.”
He added: “We showed more courage and were much better in dead-ball situations. We played just the way we wanted to play. But in both the games we have played, we were in the lead, but after 60 minutes, we lost it all.”
Some eloquent and articulate points there from the big man, something not equally apparent in his ‘conversation’ with Hart a little earlier on in the evening.
