Garth Crooks commits another Team of the Week FAIL
The BBC’s football coverage has many reasons to raise your anger. Mark Lawrenson’s unintelligent predictions, Colin Murray continued employment and Garth Crooks stoned extended questions.
Garth’s Team of the Week feature is also something of a joke. Firstly, quite why anyone would be rushing to see which players Crooks thinks have played well is beyond me when presumably we all have the brain cells to make our own judgements. But when one of the BBC football ‘experts’ makes basic errors of fact, it does provoke a substantial sigh.
A few weeks ago we revealed Crooks’ preference for the 4-1-5 formation in his Premier League selection, but this week he opts for a lack of understanding of international football. He picks James Morrison for his team alongside the words
This is a player that Roy Hodgson should now be taking a keen interest in
Unless Crooks is suggesting that Roy should just try and be mates with Morrison, it seems the ‘expert’ hasn’t realised that Morrison has played 23 times for Scotland. Which sort of rules him out of Hodgson’s plans.
The article has since been adapted to remove the gaffe.
