Bolton striker Marvin Sordell has had his mobile phone confiscated by the club in a bid to overcome his Twitter obsession.
Manager Dougie Freedman confirmed that the Team GB player had been deprived of his phone in a bid to get him to focus on settling in Bolton rather than staying on top of his social networking commitments.
Freedman said: “There have been small issues off the field with his tweeting.
“It could be bordering on an obsession with Twitter and Facebook and all the things that go on with these kids.
“We are now trying to work with Marvin — by taking his phone off him.”
Despite effectively grounding Sordell like a misbehaving teenager, Freedman said the ex-Watford man would not be leaving the Reebok Stadium.
He added: “He’s never had a problem on the field. He works very hard at training, he’s fit.
“We have just got to get him settled down and help him with some of the off-the-field antics.”
